Interview--cullensbabymama7

Much thanks to the lovely cullensbabymama7 for chatting with me!

Mandy: Tell us a little about yourself and how you found fanfiction.

Cullensbabymama: Well, I'm a 23 year old mother to a 4 going on 5 year old. I love writing, it has always been something I enjoyed doing even when I was a wee little thing. I mostly got into writing poetry, but discovered that whoever lived in my head should be shared, even if it was all insanity. I found fanfiction, honestly from YouTube. I had this crush on Kellan Lutz and after watching Twilight, the first movie, I went on YouTube to stalk his interviews. There had been a convention that Kellan Lutz spoke at for fans, and they hosts went on telling him how there had been stories on his character and named the sight off, which was FF.Net. I watched the interview again, and then went to the site... it was like heaven, that was like in 2009.

Mandy: What types of genre do you like reading most?

Cullensbabymama7: Romance and Humor. Either with something else, but mostly the two together. I'm not much of an angsty person, it always makes me get weepy, those ones.

Mandy: In your opinion, what makes a story worth reading?

Cullensbabymama7: To me, a story worth reading is a story you can get lost in. If I start reading a story, and in the first few chapters I start reading and see it play out in my head like a movie, then it’s worth reading. If one's imagination is supplied to others, and it captures me even in a summary, it’s worth reading.

Cullensbabymama7: Having something to read, that causes the reader to get emotional and attached to is, also makes it worth reading. I love those.

Mandy: Any Twilight/Vampire Diaries crossover you're reading, loving, and want to recc?

Cullensbabymama7: There are so many, finished and unfinished. I love emeraldphoenix23, all of her crossovers for twilight/vampire diaries are amazing, if people aren’t reading her stories and loving them, they are insane. Also I love your story, it’s one of the crossovers that grasp me and had me wanting to let my mind go free. There is a story, Twilight Redemption I believe is the name I'm not sure of the author though, it’s awesome and I think people should read that too. I don’t know every name of all the ones I love and wish for people to read. One of my all time favorites though is if the world falls still or something like that... I don’t know the correct name of it, but I love that one

Cullensbabymama7: I really suck at keeping track of the titles

Mandy: Fanfiction pet peeves?

Cullensbabymama7: Honestly, rude people. It doesn’t matter how confident a person becomes in their writing even if they make mistakes along the way, there are always rude people out there, either another author or just a reader, who put people down. A story could be getting amazing results by readers and there will be that one or few that put people down. It causes the person they put down, to feel discouraged and second guess their selves and their passion for what they are providing.

Mandy: I was surprised at Stefan not being afraid of Bella after Elena's colorful description. Why did you give Bella a personality as such?

Cullensbabymama7: Oh there are so many out-takes I've been writing along the way. I want to post those after my final chapter to The Older Gilbert Sister. To give people a better look into the eyes of those around Bella and the way she acts.

Mandy: How does Bella/Damon’s relationship differ from Edward/Bella’s in Twilight?

Cullensbabymama7: Honestly I gave Bella the personality that I feel she deserved. When planning the story while watching the show, I thought there needed a person who had this air about her. One that was strong and confident, maybe a little insane and nutty, that over does it, but can be brought back down if somebody stepped up. I wanted Bella to be what the show didn’t give, and what Twilight didn’t give us.

Cullensbabymama7: Edward and Bella in Twilight, to me, was a controlling one. Edward smothered her and made the choices; Bella didn't get to or decided against really speaking up. Damon and Bella, they sort of feed off each other. He's strong and says what he thinks and so does she. If Damon didn’t want her doing something she would tell him shove off and that he needed to go along or just not bother. They are more equals, with each other. At least to me.

Cullensbabymama7: Edward didn’t really give Bella a chance to use her voice. Damon does.
Also, Edward didn’t help Bella feel strong. But in my story, Damon who knows Bella is strong, just as she does, he makes her feel stronger. Not weak, not unuseful.

Mandy: How does their friendship differ from Elena/Damon's?

Cullensbabymama7: Bella, even at first if she didn’t really like him beyond thinking he was attractive, didn’t want to change him. She accepted who he was and how he was. She could see that behind his eyes there was another person there, one he hid from everyone else, but she didn’t try to change who he was or how he acted. It actually grew on her. If he was an ass, that was alright because it was/is part of him. Friendship shouldn’t be about changing a person, or wanting to. That person should want to change on their own if that's what they wanted. Bella didn’t see a need to change him, because you can’t change who you are. She couldn’t change who she was, and she wouldn’t. So why do it, or try to? It wouldn’t be a real friendship. Also, she wasn't really looking for friendship, it just happened and she just went with it. Even if she didn't like it all the time, it just was. - If that makes any sort of sense lol

Cullensbabymama7: Elena always wanted to change Damon. Make him more like Stefan or how she felt he should be, in her eyes. -- At least that’s how I see it. So the difference is acceptance from the beginning. Not molding Damon into the person another wanted him to be, but accepting who he was and how he was.

Cullensbabymama7: I felt Damon needed somebody like that. Somebody to just accept him, and Bella just so happened to be that person. They are alike in many ways, Damon and Bella.

Mandy: Will the sire bond between Bella/Mason/Tyler change into anymore than that? Friendship or romantic?

Cullensbabymama7: I'm not sure what I'm really going to do with the sire bond with Bella/Mason/Tyler. Bella and Tyler already had that romantic bond before the sire bond even took place. Bella was attracted to Mason before she even sired him, but she never acted on it. I think that their sire bond with Bella will be more of a family type bond. They are there for each other, weather they feel the need to do what they thing she needs or wants. The romantic feelings Tyler has, I think will always be there, but the way she is with them, how she cares for them, it won’t go farther than it had. So it will more than likely remain friendship that forms into a family bond. She takes care of them and they take care of her. Damon likes to call Mason and Tyler her hybrid babies, because she adores them and takes care of them. They sort of guide each other. So as far as romantic feelings, it won’t go to that. I'm still working it out myself to tell you the truth. There might be some issues with Tyler later on, maybe.

Cullensbabymama7: But as far as the sire bond between Mason and Bella... it is as it is.

Mandy: Does Tyler and Mason’s blood have the healing power that Klaus and Bella’s does?

Cullensbabymama7: I've thought about that, and no. It doesn’t have the healing power that Klaus and Bella's blood holds. I like it that way. Their bite can kill a vampire, but their blood cannot save a vampire. I like to think of Mason and Tyler the next generation of hybrids. They just do not hold the same things the original Hybrids, Klaus and Bella, hold. Giving them the ability to heal with their blood sort of will cause a few problems with future happenings in the story.

Mandy: So those who are born as hybrids have the healing powers. Bella knows everything that’s going on, which borderlines on being Mary Sue (except that you’ve made her character REAL). Is she ever going to fail? Face some serious, lasting consequences for being so powerful, so involved in nearly all aspects of the Supernatural?

Cullensbabymama7: She will face some serious lasting consequences. Bella said that she was the witch, the vampire, and the hybrid. She can use her abilities to get a head of people sure. But some of her actions will backfire. She may be powerful, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t be thrown a loop. I understand how I made her, but as the story goes on, she will face struggles and things that do not work out as she thought they would have. She gets a head of herself, gets too cocky... it won’t always be how it is now... I just don’t want to give my future plans away.

Mandy: It's those little flaws and the struggles that make her character interesting.

Cullensbabymama7: I will say she is very much like her father in some ways. Shit just happens, that she thinks wouldn’t or cant, and she will get a reality check. A few of them.

Mandy: What led Elena to want to kill Mason and Tyler? She’s always been a martyr to save other people, but this time she wouldn’t really be saving anyone else…

Cullensbabymama7: I wanted a little twist on Elena. Yes, she usually is a martyr, but I wanted to do a little something different. She thought it would save at least somebody, even if it wouldn’t work. And I wouldn’t say she wanted to kill them, I would say she thought that since a being could or is two things, that it made sense to her. For a hybrid to be killed to save two different people. She thought that her suggestion was useful and helpful, she hoped it was. It wasn’t, and her thinking didn’t help, it sort of caused a rift between some people.

Cullensbabymama7: Everyone is so use to Martyr Elena... So why not show them that she can be or say something they wouldn’t expect?

Mandy: So her intention wasn't one of malice? I felt as I read the chapters that Elena's attitude towards Bella has gone borderline hatred. Or she's started to pull away from that sisterly bond that was present in the first few chapters.

Cullensbabymama7: It was and it wasn’t. She was trying to save at least one person, but she also was careless to think of the people she was suggesting to die in their place. …

Cullensbabymama7: you're correct...her attitude is starting to change...

Cullensbabymama7: Elena is pulling away. She is use to her way or demanding her away, and people listening to her. She doesn’t like how Bella seems to be right or how Bella thinks she's right. She doesn’t like how people just follow along... it’s something that will be addressed. Their bond, the sisterly bond... it's breaking away.

Mandy: Will the three hybrids (B/T/M) be enough to defeat the original hybrid or do you have more up your sleeve? *Wiggles eyebrows*

Cullensbabymama7: I've already planted something... that promise that Bella made Klaus promise... in my recent update... it wasn’t exactly what she did. But alone, M/T/B. But there are plenty of things up my sleeves when it comes to our Hybrid Daddy. I believe that if Bella wished to kill Klaus, or at least do what happened in the show, she could... the thing is, she doesn’t want that... not right now... Bella has an agenda.

Mandy: I wouldn't expect anything less from her!

Cullensbabymama7: I wouldn’t either lol.

Mandy: Are there any hints you can give as to what is coming up for us readers?

Cullensbabymama7: Hints... without giving too much away, well... I can say that not everything is as it appears to be. Don’t bank thinking what is going to happen next on the sacrifice. What one says one wants isn’t. Also, I can say that Stefan isn’t going with Klaus...

Mandy: Is there any information you'd like to give out that I haven't covered?

Cullensbabymama7: Also... the story isn’t over... it's sort of really just beginning...

Cullensbabymama7: Any information that I want to give, that you haven’t covered... I really don’t have anything other to give at this moment.

Mandy: Alright! Thank you so much for your time, C. I really, really appreciate it.

Cullensbabymama7: No, thank you! But you’re welcome lol

Cullensbabymama7: I just can’t wait to see who all won and what not. It's all so very exciting to me. I've always shied away from contests and what not, but this is the first time I've been entered into something by another person. I guess I just can’t wait to see how well everyone did. I went back to check out everyone who was nominated so I could read their stuff and review to them. But the voting was closed and the nominations were taken down.

Mandy: I was pretty strict about the dates, lol.... Those who voted could vote again on the 29th,  so I had to take the polls down to prevent cheating, that's all. :)

Cullensbabymama7: Will there be more things like this going on?

Mandy: Probably. Maybe SPN/Twilight fandom next. J
